Ecological House in Rojales

The residential property is located in the municipality of Rojales, on a plot with views over the Mediterranean Sea and the Mata lake.

This plot has an odd triangular geometry, surrounded by a dense wood, several adjacent buildings and vegetation. The terrain, with terraced typology, is delimited to the south by a motorway, through the centre of the same, an irrigation ditch passes.

The project is undertaken with the aim of seeking out maximising the views and the south-facing orientation. The interior of the property must always remain protected from any external visual. The programme is integrated into a central piece flanked by two longer sections that act as a barrier to safeguard and bury the property within the embankment slopes.

The commitment to the environment is clearly visible in this ecological house, in which we have applied all possible strategies: natural ventilation, good use of sunlight, thermal inertia or the inclusion of vegetation roofing with a view to minimising energy consumption, thus seeking out the most sustainable design. Likewise, the construction techniques and material aspects have been adapted to the local conditioning factors to accomplish economic solutions to the project.
