The Multidisciplinary Centre in Benimantell has as its aim the reactivation of the public space and cultural life in the municipality through a sustainable action, both on an economic, as well as an environmental level.
The ethos of the architectural studio has focused on rationality and simplicity with these having major weighting on the use of materials and construction methods.
In formal terms, the building is the simplification of a town house with the necessary modification to unveil itself as a recognisable and iconic public building, while preserving the capacity for integration within the urban space.
The allocation of the space for public usage is enhanced through the connection between the exterior and interior design. The continuance of materials between interior spaces and those on street level is seen both in the vertical encasings and the actual cobblestone pavement which enter into the building itself as if they were a prolongation of the sidewalk.
